Volkswagen vans have a reputation for never quitting, even though the road is long and uphill. Well, that’s exactly what we had to do to get this beauty from Rio de Janeiro to Amsterdam. Think Brazilian repair shops, bureaucracy, corrupt customs officers, missing documents, a dozen middle-men, and plenty of stress. In the end we just labelled the van for being ‘decoration’ and shoved it in the box for a long container ride to Amsterdam. We guess you could say that eventually, “the van beat the man”.
